Diet to Stop the Onset of Arthritis
Case History
We
recently saw a young man whose mother has
Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Around the age of 21 this patient, John, started to have wrist pain. At
age 31 his low back began to have pain, and now at the age of 33 he was
still having
wrist,
and
low back pain
plus new pains in both of his
elbows.
Afraid that he was developing rheumatoid arthritis like his mother, he
came to see us for Prolotherapy to heal his joint pain.
What John didn’t know was that joint pain, especially from rheumatoid
arthritis, can be healed and managed by diet. During his first visit
with
Dr. Hauser John asked about
Prolotherapy for his
joint pain. However after listening to John’s family history and
explanation of his pain,
Dr. Hauser suggested that John go the
diet
route instead of the Prolo route. While John was a bit skeptical about
changing his diet, he decided to give it a go. Along with the
Hauser
Diet Typing Dr. Hauser ordered an Arthritis Panel to check
for any indication that John had or was developing arthritis.
Once all of John’s test results were back he cam in for a follow-up with
Dr. Hauser and his first nutrition visit. His Arthritis Panel showed
that he was negative for Rheumatoid Arthritis but that he was producing
some level of antibodies. Dr. Hauser told John that if he had not caught
this antibody production now that eventually his body would have started
producing antibodies against his joints. So the plan for John was to
follow his Diet Type – which was the Giraffe Diet – and to avoid all of
his
food allergies with the
goal of decreasing his body’s total production of antibodies.
John was determined to follow the diet and see what happens. The Giraffe
Diet was similar to the diet he was already eating, but the food
allergies would be a big change for him.
Many patients will come to see us at Caring Medical in hopes of getting
Prolotherapy to relieve their pain. While most are able to benefit from
Prolo alone, some will need to consider their overall health. A visit
with Dr. Hauser is always the best way to start, no matter what the
problem is. Patients can always be assured that Dr. Hauser will look at
the big picture and let them know the best option for their treatment.
