Is Your Prolotherapy Not Working:
You Could Be the Cause!

Most of the time when someone reports that thay are not getting better from
Prolotherapy, they assume it relates to the Prolotherapy doctor. Well, I am here to tell you that this is correct.  But let’s not blame it all on the Prolotherapy doctor and take some individual responsibility; because you may be the cause of why Prolotherapy is not working for you!

Let’s look at some of the main causes that are your fault as to why the Prolotherapy is not working.

STAYING ON ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDICATION
I don’t want to comment too much on this.  You know my feelings.  The body heals by inflammation.  If you continue to stay on
anti-inflammatories, you will eventually, most likely, end up with chronic body pain.  By taking an anti-inflammatory medication, you are suppressing not only the Prolotherapy, but your body’s repair mechanisms.  Soon you will have chronic pain in other body parts because you are suppressing healing in those areas.

STAYING ON NARCOTIC MEDICATIONS
Narcotic medications suppress all cells of the immune system.  Plain and simple.  This is not theory, this is fact.  If you want to take chemotherapy (drugs that inhibit the immune system) for your chronic pain, go ahead.  This is what narcotic medications are, immune suppressants just like chemotherapy.  If you want to get better from Prolotherapy, then stop your anti-inflammatory and narcotic medications.

STOP SELF-MANIPULATING
Yes, that means popping yourself.  I don’t care it you feel better right away.  All you are doing is making your ligaments looser.  Stop cracking your neck and your back.  If you want to get better from Prolotherapy, stop self manipulating.

STOP HAVING THE CHIROPRACTER MANIPULATE YOU
Same reasons as above.  High velocity manipulation, yes, that is cracking of the
lower back or neck, has the potential to loosen joints too much.  It can loosen the very structures that are being strengthened with Prolotherapy.

STOP ONE SIDED DOMINANCE
Must you do everything with your right side.  You write and type with your side.  You brush your teeth, scrub you pots and pans, carry your suitcases, luggage and briefcase all with your right side.  Can’t you do anything with your left side?  Is it any wonder your left upper back is hurting when you are completely dominant with your right side?  If you want to get better you better do the mouse on your
computer and other activities with your left side.  Everyone should be somewhat ambidextrous.

STOP EATING POORLY!
You have chronic pain and you eat, drink and be merry.  I am not talking about folks whose metabolism is so slow because of inactivity from chronic pain and who are overweight because of it.  This is for people who just plain and simple eat an unhealthy
diet and know better.  If you want your body to heal and that includes heal with Prolotherapy, eat healthy!  If you don’t know how to do it, then come to our office and get Hauser Diet Typing.

WATCH BAD HABITS
I had a chronic
hamstring problem that not even Prolotherapy could get rid of.  One day I noticed when I was standing I would always put weight on my right leg and hyperextend it a little.  I was literally doing this hundreds of times a day.  It wasn’t my exercise causing my hamstring issues, it was my standing posture.   My right elbow started to go because of all the Prolotherapy I did.  So what did I do?  I start using my left hand and upper extremity more.  I do the mouse with my left hand, as well as brush my teeth and other activities with my left hand.  Yes, I am becoming ambidextrous. Look at what you do that you might not even be aware of!

IF YOU SMOKE, STOP NOW!  If you smoke, then stop!  You are only hurting yourself.  There is nothing else to say on this matter. Smoking causes cancer as well as a wide array of other diseases.

START TAKING YOUR SUPPLEMENTS
Supplements help with healing and recovery.  Not taking them if you have chronic pain is silly.  Do whatever you can to heal.  Take supplements.

There is no known cure for arthritis. Prolotherapy and nutritional supplements can help alleviate, reverse, or end arthritic pain by treating an underlying cause that contributes to degenerative disease, ligament laxity. Strengthening ligaments and other connective tissue can help prevent bone on bone arthritis from developing.
