Treatment of Migraines
Current traditional drugs for migraine
headaches, such as
Ergotamine,
Fiorinal,
Codeine, and the other medications, provide only temporary relief. The patient dependent on these drugs for
headache relief lives in fear of the next migraine attack. Patients describe their migraine headaches as similar to having one half of their head hit repeatedly with a baseball bat.
Prolotherapy is the best curative treatment for migraine headaches. Often the migraine sufferer will say that
neck pain or tightness is associated with the migraine and will signal the start of the headache. This is a sign that the source of the migraine is in the neck. Having personally treated hundreds of patients with migraine
headaches, only a few did not have a positive response to
Prolotherapy. The success rate of Prolotherapy in the total elimination of migraine headaches is at least 90 percent. Such a high percentage will seem unrealistic to some people, but this claim is dependent upon an accurate diagnosis. If the primary cause of the migraine headache stems from
ligament or
tendon injury in the neck, a high
success rate with Prolotherapy is expected.
Sometimes a person has other factors, in addition to
ligament weakness in the neck, associated with initiating the migraines, including
food sensitivities, hormone deficiencies, and
yeast infections. In these instances, Prolotherapy must be combined with Natural Medicine techniques, such as elimination of allergic foods from the diet,
natural hormone supplementation. or yeast infection treatment to obtain completely curative results.
People who have suffered for years can still find relief with Prolotherapy. Prolotherapy has helped thousands of people with tension, migraine, cluster, and other nagging headaches.
"I had
cluster headache migraine headaches off and on for about 16 years," said
Kendall Gill, Guard for the Miami Heat professional basketball team. "The headaches would last for one to two months. It did not matter how many
pain pills or pain shots I took. They would only return with a vengeance. They
would hamper my daily activities to the point where all I could do was stand still and hope the pain would go away." After receiving one
Prolotherapy treatment by
Gustav A. Hemwall, M.D., the world's most experienced
Prolotherapy doctor, Kendall Gill was headache free for two years.
After a flare-up of his headache pain, Kendall Gill knew where to turn, and it was not to the local pharmacist. He learned that headaches are not due to a pain pill deficiency. Headaches, even cluster and migraine headaches, have a definitive cause. The most common cause of headache pain
is
ligament laxity in the neck. The best treatment option for long-term curative rests is Prolotherapy because it addresses the underlying cause of the problem, ligament
weakness. |
