SHOULDER PAIN BLOG

Q. Pain in both shoulders
I have been having a gradual increase in shoulder pain the last 2 years. It's now affecting all parts of my shoulder and arm.  I have pain moving it slightly, rotating in both directions, sleeping on it, putting my body weight on it, and it's in both shoulders. The right is worse. My doctor doesn't think it's a bone spur, because the pain is in both shoulders.  Any suggestions to what is causing this pain, I didn't have any injury. I did have an EMG test which came back normal.  Do you think prolo will help and how many treatments?

A. In my opinion you need to get an x-ray of both shoulders.  That would show whether or not you have a bone spur.  Then go to a Prolotherapy doctor.  If your impingement sign is negative, then you can make a complete recovery with Prolotherapy.  If your impingement sign is positive, you should make a complete recovery from pain except for overhead activities.  To become pain free from that you would most likely need arthroscopic surgery.

The impingement sign is when the doctor internally rotates the upper arm while lifting it up.  This narrows the space through which your rotator cuff tendons traverse underneath the Acromioclavicular joint.

Definitely go see a Prolotherapist. They should be able to tell you whether Prolotherapy will help or not

There is no known cure for arthritis. Prolotherapy and nutritional supplements can help alleviate, reverse, or end arthritic pain by treating an underlying cause that contributes to degenerative disease, ligament laxity. Strengthening ligaments and other connective tissue can help prevent bone on bone arthritis from developing.
